Fantasy Basketball Box Score Notes & Analysis For Monday 12/1
Recap From 9 Games On Monday
ATL @ DET
Atlanta
Mouhamed Gueye - Still viewed as an elite stream with Porzingis out. Rough line tonight, but he managed to salvage it with 4 defensive stats
Detroit
Ausar Thompson - His upside remains limited in this role, but I still think it would be unwise to drop him.
Daniss Jenkins - Started with Robinson out. I don’t think Robinson misses time, but this data point shows the extent of the priority of Jenkins in the rotation.
Jaden Ivey - Jenkins started over Ivey in Robinson’s absence. It’s getting harder and harder for people to justify why they are rostering him.
Isaiah Stewart - Has a case to be held as a handcuff if you’re well off in the standings, but the case is still very weak.
CLE @ IND
Cleveland
Jaylon Tyson - It’s worth looking at Cleveland’s injury report before overreacting. It’s unlikely Tyson has long term value, but he should at least be rostered for now.
Craig Porter - Streamable when players are out.
Nae’Qwan Tomlin - Consistent role, and elevates as a stream option when players are out.
Indiana
Jay Huff - Minutes remain elevated. He’s a block producing factory
TJ McConnell - Very strange. We’ll find out soon why he only played 6 minutes, but I’m assuming it’s to reduce his recent workload post injury. It’s just a strange way to go about it.
MIL @ WAS
Milwaukee
Kevin Porter - Porter has wasted no time justifying his preseason fantasy hype. It’s unfortunately bittersweet that he could go right back to IL after leaving the game early tonight.
Ryan Rollins - 2 quick fouls and KPJ spark plug limited him a bit tonight, but I think he’s proven he’ll be fine alongside Porter. Looks like Porter could miss time again as well.
Washington
Marvin Bagley/Tristan Vukcevic - Sarr will miss a few games, and both Washington centers could have value. I prefer Bagley as he’s starting, although neither are musts unless we hear differently on Sarr.
Justin Champagnie - Per minute monster
Kyshawn George - Back to back rough games, but he’s shown more than enough to not be worried.
CHA @ BKN
Charlotte
Ryan Kalkbrenner - Weaker lines recently, but nothing about his situation has changed, and he remains a must roster player.
Moussa Diabate - Keeps maintaining must roster status on low minutes against all odds
Collin Sexton - He’s been really good recently, but I don’t see long term value unless LaMelo is out.
Brooklyn
Danny Wolf - Worth a look in deeper leagues as he’s produced well the last 2 games, and he’s in the rotation.
Drake Powell - Underrostered for deep leagues
Egor Demin - If you added after last game, you’re probably not dropping after tonight, but it was another reminder of his continued inconsistency. Don’t think you can rely on 2 blocks per game from Demin
LAC @ MIA
Clippers
John Collins - Unfathomable fall off from just a year ago
Kris Dunn - Blowout produced some weird rotations, so I’m not going to draw conclusions from his minutes being slightly down. Dunn remains a standard league option.
Miami
Davion Mitchell - He’s been basically unaffected by Herro, but remains closer to fringe than must roster. I would hold in most cases.
Kel’El Ware - No crossover with Bam. Ware was a -16 last night, with Bam as a +33.These fluctuations were bound to happen.
CHI @ ORL
Chicago
Matas Buzelis - I know Chicago had players out tonight, but games like this is why I believe Buzelis is a firm hold in standard leagues. The rough patch he went through feels like a worst case scenario for production, and I’m optimistic ROS.
Ayo Dosunmu - Always a great stream when players are out
Tre Jones - Another solid game, but I don’t think he should be viewed as a long term fantasy option
Orlando
Tristan da Silva - The early intrigue when Banchero was first out has quickly vanished
Wendell Carter - Clear must roster player who is still underrostered
Goga Bitadze - Basically a rosterable option in standard leagues at this point. He did leave early due to an injury.
Anthony Black - Black has been fairly consistent recently, fueled by large usage & steals. I don’t see him as a long term option experiencing a boost with Banchero out, but Black probably should be rostered for now.
HOU @ UTA
Houston
Reed Sheppard - Down game with Holiday taking favorability here
Utah
Keyonte George - This is what elite players do. Terrible game on Sunday, and bounces right back.
Ace Bailey - He seems to have just as many good games as bad games, but the consistency is definitely improving. I generally think he should be rostered, but he’s more of a build-specific guy, or someone to hold if you’re ahead in the standings.
Kyle Filipowski - Inflated minutes with Nukric foul trouble. I’m not moved to add yet, but his trust is slowly increased
DAL @ DEN
Dallas
Ryan Nembhard - An obvious add after last night when he was already trending in that direction. Dallas has altered their point guard several times already this season, and along with the unsustainable shooting last night, should numb expectations somewhat. The positive context for Nembhard can still not be ignored, and he should be rostered in all standard leagues by someone after this.
Naji Marshall - Marshall is benefiting from Washington’s absence & remains a rosterable option for now.
Anthony Davis - Relieving to see it appears he hasn’t lost a step
D’Angelo Russell - Back in the rotation after back to back DNPs, and should contribute to future confusion at the Dallas PG spot.
Brandon Williams - Easy drop after the Nembhard take over
Denver
Peyton Watson - Remains must roster, and the minutes have been unbelievably consistent
Spencer Jones - Back to back big games. Jones has enough of a history to know he’s an empty fantasy player, who has benefited here with unsustainable efficiency. Minutes are interesting with multiple Denver injuries, but he’s watchlist only for me right now.
Jamal Murray - Suffered an ankle injury, and I expect he misses time.
Tim Hardaway/Bruce Brown - Boosts for streaming with Murray out, but shouldn’t be considered as adds/
PHO @ LAL
Phoenix
Dillon Brooks - He’s shot chucking at very impressive efficiency, which makes me incredibly nervous he will nuke your FG% on any given week. Boosted further with Booker missing time
Collin Gillespie - Gillespie continued an unbelievable run last night, receiving increasing opportunity with Green & Allen out, and now it’s likely Booker misses time. Gillespie is a must roster player at this stage.
Royce O’Neale - Bounce back game, justifying his fantasy roster spot. Easy hold now with Booker likely to miss time
Jordan Goodwin - Benefited recently with Green & Allen out, and will likely get another boost with Booker missing time. Goodwin remains a rosterable option, who is more of a schedule play, than a must.
Lakers
Rui Hachimura - 1 rebound away from a 23 minute Tony Snell!
